Agaton Gualberto, MD, a general surgeon from Daly City, California will be installed as the 35th President of the Society of Philippine Surgeons in America at the 36th Annual CME Seminar at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on July 14-17 2010. Dr. Gualberto has been a fellow of the Society for many years and has been the Society’s treasurer for the past two years. He is a lifetime member of the Society.
Dr. Gualberto is an alumnus of the University of Santo Tomas, class 1961. He did his postgraduate residency training at several hospitals before becoming chief resident in surgery at Harkness Hospital in San Francisco, California. He served as a general surgeon in Vietnam during the Vietnam war and was discharged honorably with the rank of major in 1970. Dr. Gualberto is active in many professional and civic organizations in the Bay Area, a number of which he has been president or chairman. He has recently been appointed as Overseas Coordinator for the UST Department of Pediatrics ICU.
An avid golfer, Tony is married to Virgie. They have two children.
