The Society of Philippine Surgeons in America, which was founded in 1972, is a professional association of Filipino-American Surgeons in the United States and Canada, whose membership includes past and present Fil-American surgeons in the academe (professors, clinical instructors, and department chairmen of renowned medical centers in the country) and those in the various disciplines in the practice of their surgical specialties and subspecialties, from general surgery to vascular, gastrointestinal to thoracic, from neurosurgery to cardiac surgery. We are also proud to be associated with our brethrens and surgical colleagues in the Philippine College of Surgeons in the Philippines. CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION

The Society of Philippine Surgeons in America is one of the most respected ethnic surgical organizations in the country. Founded in 1972, the Fellows of the Society include professor, chairmen of departments in universities and university affiliated teaching hospitals, well known surgeons in different disciplines in private practice, and medical leaders in national state, and county of organized medicine and volunteers in various local non-profit organizations. The Society has obtained uninterrupted accreditation from the Council of Continuing Medical Education for the past 33 years. The Annual Seminar is usually held in July at a mid-winter surgical symposium in Manila, Philippines, The CME has been a dynamic lively and excellent source of the exchange of ideas and what’s new in surgery.
