On September 13, 2006, SPSA President Oscar M. Laserna, M.D., FACS, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, appointed former SPSA President and Philippine Surgeon Editor Emeritus Philip S. Chua, M.D., FACS, FPCS, to the position of SPSA Website Director, and commissioned him to design, construct, and launch the official SPSA website.

Thus started SPSA’s search for that special bright star in the galaxy of the world wide web, which would personify and faithfully represent the fellowship of this exclusive society. On October 26, 2006, SPSAtoday.com was born and became a colorful and vibrant new member of the internet cyberspace.

In this 21st century that ushered in the new millennium, SPSAtoday.com aims to be a pro-active illuminating vision in the vast firmament in today’s wonders of the informational age and the era of split-second, instant, communication technology.

With great pride and immense hope, we, the Fellows of the Society of Philippine Surgeons in America, have embarked on this wonderful journey in space and time, equipped with our brotherhood dreams, ideals and integrity, and guided by the Divine Providence and our Oath as physicians, have endeavored to soar to greater heights to attain our appointment with destiny.
