The SPSA thanks and Appreciates Dr. Eusebio Kho’s generous donation to the SPSA-PCS/WSF Rural Surgery Outreach Program in the Philippines. The Outreach program is an effort to bring surgery to the rural areas where there are no surgeons available. The initial reception of the community to the program is very positive and it’s the hope of the SPSA-PCS and World Surgical Foundation to incentivize newly graduated General Surgeons to practice in the underserved areas where no Surgeons are available. It’s the hope of the Society that we could increase the number of recruits by tapping resources from the various Medical Alumni Associations and the numerous Fil-Am associations in the US and Canada to step up in duplicating our efforts to help in alleviating the needs of the poor and underserved segments of the Philippines.
