Former SPSA President, Napoleon Valdez, MD. FACS, FAAOS died peacefully  on 4/21/23 at Clovis, California in the presence of his wife Vee and family.

Nap Valdez has been a loyal fellow of the SPSA and frequent lecturer in Society’s CMEs and member of the leadership for many years serving as member of the Board, Executive Secretary and President of the Society in 2000.

He was a graduate of Far Eastern University and trained at New York United Hospital Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Healthcare System. Certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, he is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Association for Hand Surgery, He practiced his profession for over 50 years in New Jersey.

It’s Mary Zamora. I spoke with Vee Valdez this morning and she told me that Nap passed away yesterday.

Dx metastatic prostate cancer he was home with Vee in Clovis, CA with Naps family and the children.

I will tell info about Nap and any Prayer Service when I learn something

We just lost another pillar of our Society; a humble human being and a font of all that is good in man. May his soul Rest in Peace. He will be missed by his family, relatives, friends, patients and his colleagues.

My sincere condolences to Nap’s family. His distinctive golf hat and his happy demeanor have permanently etched in my memory of Naps. He will be missed.
